Unfortunately, this dilemma cannot be solved with just a click of a button as there can be several reasons why a computer runs very slow. Read on as I give you a step-by-step guide on how to troubleshoot a sluggish PC.
Hardware
Is your computer's operating system freshly installed? If so then you may need to upgrade your hardware to cope with your system's demands. A fresh installation means that your computer is free from malware and viruses so it may be the operating system itself that is slowing your computer down. Newer versions of Windows has higher system requirements so check if your computer meet those requirements, particularly the memory (RAM in gigabytes) and clock speed (frequency in GHz).
Check your Installed Programs
If it's not the hardware constraints then it's definitely the software part that is causing the problem. Did you just install loads of programs? Some programs you install actually run in the background even when you are not using them. This puts an unnecessary load to your system.
Here's a tip: click the Start button, type msconfig on the text box, then hit Enter. On the System Configuration window, click the Startup tab and uncheck the programs you don't want to run on startup.
Scan your Computer for Viruses and Malware

What's really disappointing is that Windows doesn't come pre-installed with a registry cleaner. It does have a registry editor but if you don't have the technical knowledge with the registry, you do not want to mess around with it.

Certifiable or Certified?
Wow, that was tough. I just had to renew my certifications for a major backup application and I can't believe it's been two years since I last took this exam. It was rough, a lot has changed in the new versions including the line of questioning used - they must have some new guys writing these or they've reached out to other gurus in the industry for input. And they are evil people.
I sat one cert a while back and was very amused to know that there were only 150 people in North America who held this cert. I'm not bragging, I just thought it very funny that such a popular application was so overlooked by people - especially those who keep a keen eye on their resume/curriculum vitae. I personally don't like seeing all those same, usual, 'everyone sits this one' certs listed on people's paper/online career history - mix it up a bit, get something that stretches you, it'll at least raise a curious question when someone comes across it.
'Oh, what's this? I see you're certified on , tell me more about that?' It can only help your allure rather that just being another line in your PDF on someone's monitor.

Solve Cross-Border Data Protection Needs With De-Dupe
I am currently visiting a very large customer of ours outside of the USA and, while I'm very lucky to be able to travel internationally for the job I adore, spreading the good word about backups, going abroad is always good for a swift reminder of the different challenges (& laws) surrounding backup data and moving it across national borders.
This customer has major datacenters in North America and Europe and many very small satellite offices around the world. They don't currently have a requirement to backup all those small places but as seems unfortunately usual, backups come last in the pecking order of project lists and funding.
It was in my previous employer life that I came to appreciate the magnitude of what may lay ahead for them, albeit not across borders in this example, but how the number of remote sites will pose the first issue. The backup solution needs to be able to handle this large list of systems and their many different connection speeds - a great way to mess up bandwidth to your datacenter is to backup myriad different sites with tiny, tiny network links.
There is an answer in the Data Protection realm of course, and as is more and more common these days, its name is 'deduplication'.
The good ol' Gartner statement runs along the lines of '75% of backups will have deduplication applied to them by 2012' - while I very much like this statement as it gets our customers to think seriously about it, I believe it's a little aggressive. For large enterprises then maybe, but most small customers will continue to use regular disk or tape until the prices of dedupe get lower.
But I digress. Dedupe will help solve their cross-border Data Protection needs. Those international lines between a company's offices are already choked with email, file shares and whatnot without adding backups to the list - so dedupe is a natural fit. Mix this with maybe having some help from the time-zone differences, a backup environment can run very well with this mixture. Throw in some proper 'backup reporting' and your Ops guys will put you back on his seasonal holiday card list.
Legal issues around this data movement can throw the next spanner in the works so we need to watch out for encrypting this replication/copy/backup data, but so far I've only run into curiosity from customers rather than blanket refusal to (basic) encryption of this data. As referenced above, a decent backup reporting app will help allay any fears from the legal people in the nice business suits who carry those little folders and are always 'at the gym' when you need to speak with them.

They are smart enough to know they'll have challenges and to be honest that is half of the battle sometimes - 'Denial' is not just a river in Egypt. We can get down to working with them on architecting a solution soon, and I preface our discussions with 'no need to take a deep breath, we can do it, it's ok.'

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core for PSP
I bought my FFVII Crisis Core copy in Nihonbashi, Osaka about a 2 months ago, but I finally finished it yesterday! I think the story line is great towards the end, but the filler storyline is pretty light. The main character, Zack Fair, starts the game as a second class S.O.L.D.I.E.R working for the Shinra Corporation. When first class Genesis disappears and then starts attacking Shinra, Zach, his mentor Angel, and the legendary Sephiroth have to figure out what's going on. As most of you guys have played FFVII, I don't think I have to tell you the whole storyline and if you haven't played it, go get a copy asap.
I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay because it was change of pace from hardcore, ultra difficult action titles like Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry. You control Zack as you cut down countless numbers of enemies using your sword and materia. Limit breaks make a return as DMV which is like a slot machine. If you get all 3 faces of a particular character, you can perform Zack's limit breaks, level up Zack, gain status effects, and level up your materia. The DMV make Zack pretty much invincible, but at least you feel like you are powerful instead of some weak chump getting beat on by minions (Gaiden anyone?) The camera angles are awesome because you can see yourself and the enemies at all times. I never had any problem escaping attacks because I could see them and the roll button helps your dodge almost anything. Boss battles are intense and satisfying because while they are overpowered and dangerous, you have enough firepower in your arsenal to handle them.
The graphics are top notch. This game didn't need FMV cut scenes even on PSP. I was very impressed by how beautiful everything looked. Some games can't even pull off that level of detail on the PS2 or PS3. The FMV looked just like FFVII: Advent Children. I seriously didn't expect it to look that good on PSP because it is a portable console. Playing pretty games like FFVII confirm that I made a good decision buying a PSP instead of a DS.
The game has flaws though. FFVII characters are very endearing, but you don't get much back story about any character. Many chances to find out more about important characters are squandered. For example, Zack returns to his village once but he doesn't meet his family. We don't find out anything concerning Zack's childhood or how he became a S.O.L.D.I.E.R. Also Sephiroth disappears for about 70% of the game only to return at the end as some raving psycho lunatic. His reasons for losing his marbles barely make any sense in the context of the new characters and story line elements. Furthermore, most of the new characters are flat and don't cut it. I didn't like Genesis rambling every two seconds about the same thing over and over again. The other S.O.L.D.I.E.R.S and characters you interact with using the email system are useless. You don't get anything from interacting with them unlike the U.M.N. email system in the first Xenosaga. Finally, Zack's interactions with Aeris were a disappointment. You barely spend anytime with her and when you do, she has you running around on silly fetch quests that have nothing to do with the storyline or your relationship. I was hoping they would explain more about her past, but I guess they are going to milk FFVII fans with an Aeris game.
